Kemper auto loss trend assumptions in 5% to 6% range: CFO McKinney

Kemper CFO James McKinney said that the company’s loss cost assumptions for auto are in the 5% to 6% range, as the carrier continues to see challenges including “severity trend inflation, seasonality and modest adverse development”.

In response, McKinney said that the company will focus on taking rate across geographies and lowering expenses.
