Arch Capital Group’s Q4 2022 combined ratio improved 4.1 points year-over-year to 73.5%, amid minimal current year cat activity in its reinsurance segment and as favorable reserve development in its insurance segment partially offset higher cat losses.

Pre-tax current accident year net catastrophe losses for the insurance and reinsurance segments totaled $34.6mn for the quarter, nearly half of the $72.3mn
