Horace Mann “Jay” Johnson passed away at his home Thursday, aged 78.

In his distinguished career, Johnson founded Reinsurance Intermediaries in 1973. He is also the founder of North-Carolina-based Axiom Re, which was acquired by Brown & Brown in 2006.
