Brothers Peter and Tony McKelvy have formed Cayman Islands collateralized reinsurer Northern Re backed by $25mn from a private investment group and with the expectation of bringing more capacity online in 2023.

Tony McKelvy formerly worked for Boost Insurance, Willis Re, and Guy Carpenter, and Peter McKelvy previously served at the Park Agency family office, Uber and Boost.
