Last week on Allstate’s earnings conference call, CEO Tom Wilson spoke of inflation numbers affecting Allstate’s business as being separate from the overall CPI numbers that grab headlines and move markets.

Yesterday, April’s CPI figures released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) showed that auto insurance inflation climbed even higher to 15.5%
