May auto insurance price rises accelerate to 17.1% amid continuing CPI slowdown

Motor vehicle insurance price increases accelerated to 17.1% in May from 15.5% in April, while the all-items Consumer Price Index (CPI) slowed to 4.0% from 4.9%.

The overall CPI rise in May was the smallest 12-month increase since the period ending March 2021.

The all-items less food and energy index rose 5.3%
