As P&C insurers re-evaluate capacity across personal and commercial lines, one sector is having no trouble retaining and even attracting carrier appetite despite a muted rate environment: workers' compensation.

Although the segment has historically been volatile, workers' comp has sustained underwriting profitability for eight years running, according to data from the National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI), which offers loss cost recommendations for 38 jurisdictions.
