Reinsurers are set to earn their cost of capital in 2023 for the first time in this insurance cycle, thanks to increased rates, higher retentions and improved investment returns, according to Howden Tiger’s interim (re)insurance market update.

The broker said that carriers which use reinsurance effectively and allocate portfolios strategically are positioned for success in the current marketplace.
