Aircraft lessor Greylag sues insurers over ~$230mn grounded units in Indonesia

Aircraft leasing firm Greylag Goose has sued various insurers and Lloyd’s syndicates in a New York court over two grounded units in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The lessor, which is backed by investment firm Avenue Capital, argued that the units were grounded by Indonesian carrier PT Garuda in July 2021 and have been “dismantled and cannibalized” since then, and are no longer serviceable or airworthy.
