Florida legislation should mitigate future homeowners’ premium increases: KCC

While Florida’s recently enacted legislation should have a major impact on excess litigation, helping to “significantly” mitigate future homeowners’ premium increases, other outside factors will continue to influence premiums, according to a recent Karen Clark & Company (KCC) report.

The modeling firm said premiums are unlikely to go down, with price increases in recent years driven by hurricanes, weather events, inflation and excess litigation.
