Conversations at this year’s APCIA annual meeting in Boston are vastly more congenial than a year ago, as delegates gathered at the event with better visibility on US property cat treaties.

Nonetheless, cedants and brokers are navigating the complexities of highly targeted risk appetites signaled by reinsurers, who are willing to provide more capacity for cat treaty but only at certain layers as they maintain discipline.
