Hamilton books $80.6mn IPO net proceeds to capitalize on hard P&C cycle

Bermuda carrier Hamilton has recorded net proceeds of around $80.6mn, after deductions for underwriting discounts and commissions, as well as estimated expenses payable, at the closing of its IPO.

The company said it intends to use the funds to make capital contributions to its insurance and reinsurance operating subsidiaries and take advantage of favorable market conditions by writing more business.
