Westland Insurance, a Canadian brokerage backed by Broadstreet Partners, has promoted Don Thompson to chief operating officer, effective January 1.

In his new position the executive will lead the firm’s national operations and will oversee its strategic initiatives.

Thompson joined Westland in 2020 as EVP of insurance and prairie operations, based in Surrey, British Columbia.
