Apollo is to begin writing a portfolio of specialty treaty business within the reinsurance division of Syndicate 1969 from 1 January.

The new book of business will include credit, mortgage and surety reinsurance.

Pricing actuary Chris Chandriotis will move into the division to build out the portfolio, as well as manage the international property reinsurance book.
