RLI has appointed David Duclos to serve as independent chairman of the board following the retirement of Jonathan Michael at next year’s annual shareholder meeting in May.

Duclos has served as board director since 2017, and currently acts as lead independent director. The executive has 45 years of experience in the (re)insurance industry, including stints as CEO of QBE NA and XL.
