Organic growth at Daytona Beach-based broker Brown & Brown accelerated in the fourth quarter to 9% on a consolidated basis and up to 9.5% in its retail brokerage unit.

Overall, the company generated $0.42 in adjusted earnings per share, beating analysts’ $0.39-per-share estimate and jumping 31% from its $0.32
