Bowhead’s Sills on MGAs: 'Most of those start-ups will not have legs'

Bowhead Specialty CEO Stephen Sills questioned the long-term viability of some newly formed MGAs and start-ups, especially in the casualty and D&O spaces, that may not be able to withstand a downturn of rates, or an increase in severity.

The executive told Inside P&C that there has been an “alphabet soup of MGAs” that have started in the past year, “which I am not convinced are going to have legs".
