Third Point’s Loeb considers taking SiriusPoint private to pursue turnaround

Activist investor and Third Point Re founder Daniel Loeb is considering taking SiriusPoint private, which he believes would better position the company to execute its turnaround strategy.

Loeb, who is the largest individual investor in the company with a 9.3% holding via various Loeb and Third Point vehicles, said in a regulatory filing that he believed in the company’s leadership and long-term strategy.
