AIG will “likely purchase” an adverse development cover (ADC) prior to the closing of Validus Re sale to RenaissanceRe, CEO Peter Zaffino said.

On a call with analysts discussing AIG's Q2 results, Zaffino said the ADC protection will “minimize potential future reserve exposure” of the portfolio.
